Rep. Ukpong -Udo Kicks Off Constituency Briefing And Empowerment In Ikono-Ini

The first phase of the Thanksgiving, Constituency Briefing, and Mega Empowerment programme by Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo Ph.D., the Member representing Ikono-Ini Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, has officially commenced. A statement from the lawmaker, released to the public, detailed the schedule for the five-day anniversary empowerment event to mark the first anniversary of Ukpong-udo's second term in office.

The formal kickoff took place today at Government School, Ikot Odu, Ndiya in Ikono Local Government Area with a constituency meeting and the disbursement of the initial tranche of cash palliative to over 2,100 constituents. Beneficiaries were selected from Ikono Middle, Nung Ukim Ward 1, Ikono South Wards 5, 6, and 8, and Ediene I, Ward 9, with a total of ₦42 million being distributed.


 

In his address, Rep. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo expressed his excitement and gratitude for the unwavering support from his constituents. Ukpong-udo also acknowledged the determination of the Ikono-Ini people, who upheld justice, equity, and transparency in the electoral process, despite challenges from rival parties.

 

Constituents lining up for Empowerment

 Reflecting on his political journey, Ukpong-udo attributed his strength in facing adversities to his faith in God and reaffirmed his commitment to conduct regular constituency briefings, providing constituents with opportunities to stay informed about his stewardship. 



Hon. Iberedem Offor, the Secretary of the Thanksgiving, Constituency Briefing, and Empowerment Central Coordinating Committee, outlined the activities marking Rep. Ukpong-udo’s first anniversary, emphasizing the lawmaker's dedication to fulfilling his promises and showing appreciation to his constituents who supported him despite financial influences and threats from opposition parties. Barr. O. B. Akpan, the Secretary of the Mkpoikana-Abasi campaign organization, expressed gratitude for Rep. Ukpong-udo's courage and determination to lead Ikono-Ini to new heights. He urged supporters to continue interceding for the lawmaker to overcome challenges and achieve greater success. Former Ikono Council Helmsman, Obonganwan Lovina Umo Effa, praised Ukpong-udo for his servant leadership and for employing his expertise to profoundly impact lives.
