AKISAN TENNESSEE CHAPTER DONATES 600 DUAL SEATER CLASSROOM DESKS TO SCHOOLS IN AKS

 In line with the objective of their special programme "Adopt a School Project.", The Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (AKISAN) Nashville Tennessee chapter have donated 600 dual classroom desk to primary schools in Akwa Ibom State, this they say is aimed at making classrooms comfortable and ultimately enhance learning.



At the presentation ceremony held at the Villa Hilton Hotel Uyo on Tuesday, May 28, 2024;  The Nashville Tennessee chapter President Mr. Etang Ekanem who was represented by his predecessor Akparawa Aniekan Etim who doubles as the Project's Coordinator for Uyo Local Government Area disclosed that in the past 27 years, they have renovated primary schools in several Local Government Areas including; Nkek Ukanafun, Onna, Etinan, Nsit Ibom and Mkpat Enin Local Government Areas, amongst many others.

He said the dual setaer desks have been carefully designed and built to provide comfort and durability, ensuring that students can focus on their studies without any distractions. He noted that the project was made possible through the collective efforts of dedicated and generous members, adding that investing in children's education translates to investing in the future of our community.

The Nashville Tennessee chapter President of AKISAN expressed profound  gratitude to his Members for their sustained commitment, while pledging the organization's resolve to continue executing projects that would help transform the community.

Speaking on behalf of the recipient Schools, the Head Teacher QIC group School, Oku; Mrs. Eme Joseph Bassey thanked the leadership and members of AKISAN Nashville -Tennessee for their benevolence. She said the group's stride is not strange as she benefitted while serving at Christ The King Primary School, adding that the gesture would go a long way to aid learning.

While the following schools; St Philip primary school use offot, Government primary school Aka 1, Presbyterian primary school, Enwe, Government primary school Ifa Atai Etoi, Government primary school nung asang, Ikono and QIC Group school, oku had their share from the 300 allocated to Uyo Local Government Area, School in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area would also receive 300 dual seater desk at a latter date to be scheduled by the Coordinator of the Project for Etim Ekpo; Mr. Ekerete Ukpong.

Meanwhile, Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria, USA have splashed  N13.7m scholarship on eligible students from Akwa Ibom State, studying in termtiary institutions across the country.
