IPMAN appoints Peter Okim as Caretaker Chair for Calabar Depot,16 EXCO members

The National Executive Committee of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has officially appointed Hon. Peter Abang Okim as the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee for the IPMAN Calabar depot.

In a letter addressed to the Inspector General of Police at Force Headquarters in Abuja, the National President of IPMAN, Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi Shettima, and National Secretary, Hon. James Terlumun Tor, announced the new Caretaker officials. 

Dated April 2, 2026, the letter, copied to key stakeholders in the petroleum industry, stated that Okim and his team are tasked with managing the affairs of the IPMAN Calabar Depot, which serves Cross River and Akwa Ibom states, in accordance with the amended IPMAN 2009 Constitution.

The other appointed officials include Chief Samuel Efiok Edem as Vice Chairman; Ayuk Oko as Chief of Staff; Comrade Okechukwu Johnson as Secretary; Uduak Sunday as Assistant Secretary; Samuel Patrick as Treasurer; Kenneth Offiong as Organizing Secretary; and Marcus Ojiji as Public Relations Officer. 

Others are Okache Godwin Ogbeche as Chief Whip; Okonasa Emmanuel as Auditor; Cosmas Obiora as Financial Secretary; and Kenneth John as Legal Adviser. The Ex-officio members are Aniedi Nnana, Anthony Okechukwu, Ika Akabo, Aniefobi Anthony, and Mbeh Williams.

Shettima and Tor also sent a separate letter to Hon. Okim, confirming his role as Chairman of the Caretaker Committee for the IPMAN Calabar Depot.

Reacting to his appointment, Okim, who has already opened up activities at the association’s secretariat in Calabar, emphasised that IPMAN is a national body representing all registered members, with authority vested in its leadership.

Upon resumption of office, Okim received a warm welcome from numerous marketers and stakeholders in the oil sector, while he exchanged pleasantries with his IPMAN colleagues during the event.

He pledged to ensure inclusivity and the effective operation of the IPMAN office. Other committee and EXCO members also expressed their commitment to facilitating the full functionality of IPMAN and promoting business growth within the depot.
