Eagle swooped down and attacked a teenager walking home from school, but police later realized it may have saved his life.

A 17 year old boy was walking home after school when witnesses saw an eagle suddenly dive toward him and snatch the backpack from his shoulder. At first, everyone thought it was just a bizarre animal attack.

The boy panicked and ran, while the eagle flew off with the bag. Police were called, but the story became even stranger when the backpack was later found outside a police station.

When officers opened it, they found the teen’s schoolwork with his name on it. And something much more serious hidden inside.

Police questioned the boy, who eventually admitted he had been pressured by older gang members to carry narcotics and was afraid of what would happen if he refused.

That discovery led officers to investigate the people using him, and several suspects were later arrested.

The teen was taken into protection while police worked the case.

People thought the eagle had attacked a random kid, but it may have been the reason he finally got away from something much more dangerous.
