Ikot Ebido-Oku: Uwemedimo Udo gifts rice, cash, cow for New Year celebration

In a testament to his commitment to community welfare, the Chairman of Uyo Local Government Transition Committee, Dr. Uwemedimo Udo, last weekend, distributed New Year gifts to residents of Ikot Ebido-Oku community.


Dr. Udo's generous gesture brought cheer and benevolence to his community as he donated 50 bags of rice, cash, and a live cow to the community in the new year.

His brief visit to the community was marked by a ceremony at the Ikot Ebido-Oku village council hall. Various speakers, including Hon. Praise Otuekong, a member of the Uyo Local Government Transition Committee, Idorenyin Umoh, an aide to Governor Umo Eno, and Obong Usen Mathew, also known as Ikemba, all praised Dr. Udo for his kindness and generosity, which they said have set a new standard in Uyo local government area.

Eteidung Iniekong Bassey Ebong, the Village Head of Ikot Ebido-Oku, remarked on the unprecedented prosperity the community has experienced under Dr. Udo's tenure as council chairperson. 




The community members also celebrated the affirmation of Governor Umo Eno's election by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, expressing gratitude for his appointment of Dr. Udo as Transition Committee Chairman for Uyo Local Government Area.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Udo reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the members of the community.




He highlighted the community's recent achievements, including the construction of a primary health center, the installation of new transformers, and the provision of jobs for youths, all of which were promises kept.

Dr. Udo urged the people of Ikot Ebido to continue supporting the political leader of Uyo, Prince Enobong Uwah, and his assistant, Hon. Monday Eyo, as they strive to advance Uyo's political standing.




The event was attended by party leaders from all political levels in Ward 13, Uyo Local Government Area, including Ward Leader Obong Essien James, Ward Chairman Obong Joseph Brown, party elders, unit coordinators, and student leaders, among others.
