The Executive Governor admonish all Akwa Ibomites to own a farm as agriculture is a sure business endeavor that yields profit that the Lord Himself introduced mankind into.
He augmented the GUYS grant with 300,000.00 each for not less than 250 beneficiaries with plea that they excel in their agricultural endeavor so the government can attract more Agro Allied industries to complement the availability of fertilizer blending plant in the state that is customer specific.
The Governor reveal that the richest men on earth are all involved in Agric inclined businesses even as he opined that all new Exco members must show proof of farm ownership as a prerequisite for admittance into the council either as Adviser or Assistant. He also called on religious organisations to venture more into farming than proliferation of churches.
“with our collective engagement in agriculture, God’s willing Akwa Ibom State shall emerge as the food basket of the Nation” he prayed.
The occasion had in attendance the Deputy Governor, Deputy Speaker AKHA, Secretary to the State Government, Members AKHA, Commissioners, FADAMA State Director, Local Government Council Chairmen led by Rt Hon Imo Attat , Captain of industries, FADAMA GUYS Beneficiaries, Farmers Association of Nigeria Akwa Ibom State Chapter members, Women groups, and youth groups.
