The Executive and Advisory Council of the Mbo Local Government Chapter of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative have been inaugurated.

The ceremony, held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the Council Hall, Mbo, drew stakeholders, party faithful and community leaders, further strengthening grassroots mobilisation in Akwa Ibom State ahead of the 2027 general elections.




Speaking at the event, the President General of the Initiative, Engr Uwem Okoko, commended the people of Mbo for their overwhelming support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both the Federal and State levels.

According to him, the Initiative was established to consolidate grassroots backing for the continuity of President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno, as well as other candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.




Setting the tone for the inauguration, the International Coordinator of the Initiative, Sir Udo Kierian Akpan, described Mbo as a strategic local government in the development trajectory of the State and urged members to remain united and committed to the mobilisation of support across all communities.

Inaugurated as Coordinator of the Chapter, Barr. Effiong Asuquo Ating pledged to work with members of the executive to strengthen the structure of the Initiative and ensure effective grassroots engagement, with Mrs. Helen Etim Anukak serving as Deputy Coordinator.

Other members of the Executive include Joseph Efa, Ita Eyo Nyoko, Mr. Victor Esu, Edy Jack Ante, Mrs. Affiong Isemin, Mrs. Nkoyo Etim and Barr. Pius Okon Edet, among others.

The Advisory Council was also inaugurated, with
 Sunday Okon Etim serving as Chairman and Alice Ekpenyong as Secretary. Members include Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem, Chief Effiong Johnson, Mr. Patrick Edeke, Bishop Etim Ante, Chief Ita Awak, Asuquo Eyo and Mrs. Joe Ating, alongside other stakeholders.

Earlier, in his welcome remarks, the Executive Chairman of Mbo Local Government Council, Sunday Etim, described the Initiative as timely and commendable, reaffirming that Mbo remains steadfast in its support for the Governor’s vision and the objectives of the movement.

Goodwill messages were delivered by stakeholders including the Executive Director, Projects, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Initiative, Sir Victor Antai; the Special Adviser, Bureau of Cooperative and Rural Development, Alice Ekpenyong; the Chief Whip of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Sir Effiong Johnson; Bishop Etim Ante and other political leaders, all of whom pledged continued support for the Initiative and its objectives.

For Udung Uko, the Executive Committee has Godwin Okponung as Coordinator with members including Dr. Mercy Effiong, Mr. Asuquo Okon Osung, Mrs. Ekaette Mfon Bassey, Chief Glory Effiong, Mrs. Affiong Akanam, Mr. Paul Isangedighi while the Advisory Council has the Member representing Oron/Udung Uko State Constituency, Chief Kenim Onofiok as Chairman, while Edet Obisung serves as Secretary.

The Executive Committee and Advisory Council for Oron Chapter were also inaugurated.
