Akwa Ibom State Assembly Screens, Clears Commissioner-nominees, Special Adviser

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly on Tuesday confirmed Commissioner-nominees  forwarded to the House by Governor Umo Eno for confirmation.

The Assembly also approved one Special Adviser as requested by the governor for effective running of government.

The confirmation was sequel to the report submitted by the Chairman, House Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights & Public Petitions headed by member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Hon Aniefiok Attah.

Presenting his report, the lawmaker described the nominees as "men and women of proven integrity" and stressed that the nominees met the constitutional requirements for nomination as Commissioners and Special Adviser.

In his remarks, the Speaker of the House, Rt Hon. Udeme Otong commended the state Governor for nominating men who will add value to the 'Arise Agenda'.

It could be recalled that the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno had on Thursday, 20 July 2023, forwarded list of 23 nominees for Commissioner and one nominee as Special Adviser to state House for confirmation.

They are as follows; Rt. Hon. Frank Archibong,  Sir Monday Ebong Uko, Comrade Ini Ememobong , Uko Udom, SAN, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, Dr Nsikan Linus Nkan, Bob Almond Emem, Captain Iniobong Ekong (Rtd), Chief Bassey Okon, Sir Charles Udoh, Hon. Orman Esin, Dr Offiong Offor, Engr. Camillus Umoh, Rt. Hon. Uno Etim Uno, Otuekong Raphael Bassey, Elder Aniefiok Nkom.

Others are; Prof. Eno Ibanga, Prof. Augustine Umoh, Dr. Ini adiakpan, Dr. Imo Moffat, Dr. Enobong Mbobo, Dr. Joseph J. Etim,  Gen. Koko Essien (Rtd) and Elder Amanam Nkanga as Special Adviser.
