Uyo City Poly Gets New Management Consultant


-to compete with Heritage Polytechnic

In a bit to reposition Uyo City Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State to compete with other polytechnics in the country, the Proprietor of the school has appointed Dr Emmanuel Ekott as the new Management Consultant.

Dr Ekott, who is the Chairman of Heritage Polytechnic, Eket, is to oversee the activities of the school for 10 years.

This was made known on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the school campus during the official handing over by the Proprietor, Elder Enobong Etukudo.

While presenting the consultant before the staffs at an emergency meeting of management of the institution, Elder Etukudo welcomed Dr Ekott to the institution, said he (Etukudo) would only play advisory role.

He advised staffs to give the new management their maximum support.

In his reaction, Dr Ekott who said he was happy to be in their midst, promised to used his years of experienced to restore back the lost glory of the institution. 

While soliciting for their support and cooperation, Dr Ekott said he has no intention of sacking any staff, especially those who stood fame during the trying times and promised to look into their welfare.

"I want to assure all, especially those who stood fame with the institution during the trying times that I will not sack anybody"

Speaking with newsmen in his office shortly after taking over the management of the school, Dr Ekott who is the Chairman and Proprietor of Heritage Polytechnic, Eket, said he intend to take Uyo City Polytechnic to the level of Heritage Polytechnic.

"If I don't take it (Uyo City Polytechnic) to the level of my own, I won't be able to breakthrough. I have to take this school to the level of my school"

On how he will transform the institution, Dr Ekott said "So far my polytechnic (Heritage Polytechnic, Eket) is rated the best and biggest private polytechnic in Nigeria, so I am bringing my expertise in managing polytechnic education into the school, I am also coming to improve on the academic standard".

He promised to tackle insecurity and cultism in the school.

He was accompanied by management of Heritage Polytechnic to the school.
